Bio


Macon Holt is a writer, critic and teacher. He has a PhD in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, which formed the basis of his book Pop Music and Hip Ennui: A Sonic Fiction of Capitalist Realism. His writing has appeared in Full Stop, The Ark Review, YUIIE, Arts of the Working Class, Periskop, and he regularly writes for Passive Aggressive, for which he co-hosted the podcast Passive Aggressive Conversations with Ivna Franic on The Lake Radio. He also co-hosts Projector Pod with Ebba Wester, a film criticism podcast. He has served as a theory coach/aesthetic advisor for Simone Mousset, Franziska Hoppe, Ingri Høyland, Joakim Drescher, Aria Leth Schütze and Marcella Lucatelli. He taught cultural studies at Copenhagen Business School from 2020 – 2025 and has taught at The Leeds College of Music, Lund University, The University of Copenhagen and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
